About Shershah Scrap

Shershah Kabari Market in Karachi is one of the largest scrap and used-parts markets in Asia: more than 4,000 shops and yards trading everything from imported ship-breaking steel to household copper wire. Reaching it individually, whether you're buying or selling, has always meant either knowing someone already inside it or spending a day walking it in person.

Shershah Scrap exists to put the information side of that market somewhere anyone can reach it: daily rate ranges for the materials that trade there, and plain explanations of how the market actually works, grading, weighing, negotiating, and where the supply comes from.

We are not a broker and take no cut of any transaction. Rate data comes from local contacts at the market, global metal price anchors, public rate reports, and, where none of those cover a material yet, automated tracking of other public Pakistani rate sources. All of it, and how it's weighted against each other, is on our methodology page.

Questions, corrections, or a rate that looks wrong? See our contact page.
